Today our drive to Cheticamp was via a scenic route. It was quite a nice drive and went via Cape George (with yet another lighthouse) but not really worth the drive.
We crossed from the mainland of Nova Scotia to Cape Breton Island which technically ceased being an island when the causeway was built about 40 years ago.
The night we arrived we headed into Cape Breton Island National Park to go "moose hunting". Don't worry it's only with our camera!! :-) We have success about 20 minutes in. It's easy to see where there's moose...there's a traffic jam!! We park safely, unlike a few others, then see 3 moose, one of which is a male (with the big antlers). They are a fair way away but we manage a few pictures (and Susan forgot to take the binoculars but I'm sure we'll see more).
